formed ERA board will discuss upcoming projects and budgets at their meeting.
VE: Ray Babcock AD7RB: A special test session was requested
for 2010/02/13 at 12:30 pm.
However, it seems none of the people can make that time.
The final outcome of that session will be posted on the web site.
The regular session in March (6th at 9:00 am) has
the potential of a lot of examinees.
Ray will check the web site’s testing schedule and ask Laura
to update any corrections.
Repeaters: ERA:
N/R
AB5CK: My repeater is working fine.
SAR: N7FLT: A skier off the west side of the Bridger ski hill
was late in returning initiating a callout.
They had been slightly injured which caused their delay but were able to
get back themselves. The SAR
response was canceled after about one hour of deployment.
AB5CK commented on the good things the sarhams were doing for public
service and emergency communications.
SCHOOLS: K7CUB- The contest “School Club Roundup” is coming
up February 8-12. Anyone that would
like to help, sign up for a two-hour shift with N7FLT.
Bridger Repeater Net: K7CUB – Meets every Tuesday evening at
8:00 pm. If interesting in being
net control, contact K7CUB.
PARTS: WA7U: Contact Todd if you want parts.
New parts are in stock. Some
of the parts are: RF connectors, Power Poles, Some new very heavy duty power
poles, RG214 (double shielded), RG213, RG58 c/u, LMR 600, insulated 22 gauge
wire, 18 gauge copper weld for permanent dipoles.
Old Business
Mid-Winter party: N7ODN:
There were bout 45 people that came and enjoyed an excellent meal and time
viewing the past year’s activities in a slide show.
Many thanks to Jerry and Kathi Gregoire for this effort.
WA7U asked the membership to consider giving a donation to ERA from GHRC.
It was determined that ERA would review their needs and come back with a
report.
If you are interested in giving a club program or have ideas for one,
contact AI4RO.
FOX Hunting:
AB5CK: Fox hunting (radio direction
finding) takes place the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the
month. The hunts start at 10:00.
Everyone is welcome. He
intimated the possibility of some surprise prizes, so get involved.
Please check in with someone on the hunt so hunt organizers know how long
to leave the foxes running. The
AB5CK repeater (447.95 – 100Hz) will be monitored.
NEW Business:
HAMFESTS: Be thinking about
whether GHC will be having one. Who is willing to Chair the event.
The discussion of this was postponed until next month.
It was noted there is a ham fest coming up in the Bitterroot this month.
KC7EWZ will check the times and see that it is announced on the website.
Upcoming public service events:
KC7EWZ will check on the schedule of those events listed on the web site
and submit corrections.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:43 pm.
The program was presented by KE7X. He talked about analog vs.
digital trunking systems and described the Gallatin valley system as it exists
and as it is proposed. The state’s
interoperability plan was also discussed.
Thanks Fred for a wonderful presentation.
Your Power point animation was remarkable!
Respectfully submitted
Don Wilson KC7EWZ
