April GHRC minutes

The meeting was called to order by president Vivian K7CUB, and was followed by introductions.

The secretarial report was oked, and the treasurer reported a balance of $1324

Les, VP, AC7RY, announced that Bob Frey will present the WTC program April 11th at SMS at 7 pm.

It was voted to have the October 12th hamfest at SMS.

The next VE exam will be June 15th.

N7ODN reported that amateur radio books have been delivered to the library.

There was a discussion on emergency communication books and courses.

AA7GK reported that the Comtech school is still on for April 20th and 21st, and that IRLP needs space to become operational.

Glacier-Waterton hamfest was mentioned, but no response followed.

AC7RY suggested using a better meeting room. K7CUB advised that this will be done, in a room adjacent to the present one.

N7LT announced a local soapbox derby for June 8th and 9th and the need for some amateur radio communication assistance. It will be held at Grant and 11th.

Field Day was discussed. At W7NAV or at Bear Trap campground?

N7GS said that the ISS SMS space station contact is still on, but may be in May.

W7LR volunteered to give a program in June.

It was suggested that we apply for a date for the Christmas party. W7LR will do this. If there is any suggestion for other than the Valley View, let him know.

Since AA8Y will be away, these minutes will be emailed to KD7FVR and a copy to K7CUB. We should have more newsletter inputs than just these minutes.
