Todd Gahagan WA7U, President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.


Introductions:

Secretary’s report: Motion to approve to accept – motion passed

Group reports

Kathi: ERA: usually one board meeting per year but we have been catching up w/ old business. Several donations thru the year have helped with finances. Next meeting will be in January for elections of personnel for next year. Bob Leo reported a balance of $1,500 between checking and savings.

Dues are 30.00


Repeaters: KI7XF: The 88 repeater has been moved from one room to another. There is now a new tower and the antenna was moved to new tower. It was made much more secure to withstand the heavy icing conditions that took out the other antennas. The outer sheath of phasing harness was broken and filled with water. We will end up needing to replace phasing harness.


SAR: There have been some missions and radio programming for events.


Middle School.: K7CUB: There are between 10 to 12 attending the Monday after school meetings. They are an enthusiastic group. Jack and Don working with them. Vivian thanked the hams that have been helping with making contacts for the young people to practice their radio skills.

N7FLT said the club has an IC 718 for sale. Contact either Don or Vivian if you are interested.

Volunteer exam schedule: Jack N7ODN: The next exam is on Dec 4.


Allan: Has an old ARRL Technician book (2004) to give away.


Fox hunting: Tom: We are doing fox hunting every 1st and 3rd Sat. Thanks for the extra help last time.


KI7XF : In last month’s ARDF contest in Croacia, the US women’s +60 team ( Karla Leach and her team mate) each received silver medals.

The us went from a total of 2 medals in the years of 1998 - 2008 to three medals this year to make a total medal count of 5. Harley and his teammate came in 4th place. Harley gave a report on the event held in Croacia.


Todd: Thanked all folks doing all the various aspects of ham radio.

Jim Hall on the Airport tabletop exercise: Jim gave a report on the tabletop exercise for a mass casualty incident.


OLD Business: None


NEW Business: WA7U: The after Christmas dinner: Les Schidt volunteered to chair the effort.


WA7U: Nomination committee:

Jerry, Rich, Vivian will serve on the committee.


Rich: Do we have a counselor (sponsor) for a new BSA troop in Bozeman. Counselor / Elmer for the BSA jamboree on the air: The Elmer could also work with the BSA merit badge on ham radio. Interested folks get with Rich.


Bob Leo: Would like to resurrect Sat morn breakfast:

FLT: A check from the marathon for $150.00 – move to transfer 150.00 to ERA. Don and Tom moved to make that happen. It passed unanimously.


WA7U: The Parts account has parts: There was some discussion about transferring money into parts account. Todd said that wasn’t necessary.


The meeting was adjourned at about 7:40 pm.
