The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Don Wilson as Jim and Alan were unavailable for the meeting.


Introductions: All present introduced them selves.

Secretary’s report: The minutes were distributed, and approved.


Treasures report: Due to Harley just returning from his trip, a treasure’s report was unavailable.

Committee reports:

The next VE testing session is Sept 3, 2011 at 9:00 AM at the SAR meeting room. Ray, AD7RB, said that he had enough testers to do the job. There will also be a VE session during the hamfest Sept 24.

ERA: Bob W7LR, Reported on a couple of meetings that ERA and Bridger communications group had with the forest service. A couple of pertinent issues regarding the Buck Ridge site came out in these meetings.

  1. Until the forest service gets the use agreement done for that site, there can be no additional users.

  2. Access through Beaver Creek and Buck Ridge Estates can be done with restraint and signing on the vehicles stating they are communication service vehicles.

SAR Don, N7FLT reported on several calls through the summer.

Middle School Ham Radio: Vivian K7CUB and Don N7FLT reported that club would be starting up as soon as things got organized and that the club received 3rd place in the School Club Roundup last year.


The 88 Net: Vivian K7CUB reported that there was one spot for a net control operator. Please see her for signing up for this educational task.

HF news. Bob W7LR reported good conditions on 17 M.

AREA REPEATERS: KI7XF reported work has been done on 88 and 82. 82 is now back up and operating. A big Thanks to Harley for his faithful work on repeaters. Also were discussed 447.7, 449.9, 447.0, 447.95, 145.25 and the rest of the MRLA repeaters and their location and where they talked to.

Fox Hunt. There was no report on Fox hunting.

Summer public service events:

Summer Picnic: Todd and Jim Hall planned and when Jim got called away to fight fires, Todd Gahagan, Don Regli, and Wade Walker did a great job of rounding up some grills and getting the meat cooked. It was enjoyed by all and Tom put out a great group of Fox’s to hunt.

Field Day: N7FLT reported on the operators that worked and our guest Rafael Van Zele ON5RZ from Belgium. See his BLOG about his Bike trip across the USA and Canada at HTTP://ON5RZ.BLOGSPOT.COM.


ARRL PUBLICATIONS: N7ODN Jack reported on the sponsored orders for ARRL publications for the hamfest. See Jack for more orders.


LEWIS AND CLARK MARATHON: W7LR reported a good turnout by hams in support of this fundraiser in which about 29,000 $ was raised for cancer research.


WA7U Todd, reported on a Moon Bounce station he visited.


KI7XF Harley, reported on his travels to Russia and Japan participating in ARDF internationally.


W7LR: Bob reported on an article in CQ he had written.


K6PJ, Larry, reported on his Technician class October 22.



Old Business:

Tour De Cure: Jerry KD7WLX is looking for more operators for the event September 17.

Ham Fest: Rich, KF7LVT took us through the plans as they are for hamfest on Sept 24.
