Jim Hall AA8Y, President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.


Introductions: All present introduced them selves.

Secretary’s report: Motion to approve to accept – motion passed

Announcements


Larry Springer: Announced that the MSU group would be getting their satellite launched.


Don Wilson: A Big thanks to Les, for the work on the winter HAM dinner.


Jerry McDonald – A reminder about Saturday morning breakfast at Perkins


Rich Michau: Mentioned that Wheat Montana will be reopening under the name Clark’s Fork and hoped the HAMS would return for coffee.


Bob: Noticed that hams were instrumental in getting communications out in Egypt during the recent unrest.


Larry Springer: Indicated he was giving a class on campus for new hams.


Committee reports

ERA: Bob NTR and suggested contributions for ERA of 35.00.


Repeaters: NTR


88 net: Vivian. Volunteer net controls are welcome. See Vivian for more information or if you would like to take a turn at net control.


SAR: The new operating bench and radios are mounted. The SARHAMS participated in the big EOC drill, which simulated an earthquake in Big Sky. There were about 50 players:


Middle School: Vivian gave a presentation about the Middle School club. She asks that people help out with the school club roundup during the week of Feb 14. Contact Vivian, Jack or Don Godward if you can help.


VE exam: Harley: Next exam march 5th.


Fox hunting: Allan: There is a fox hunt this Saturday. Everyone is welcome. Meet on 447.95 from 10:00 till noon.


Old Business:

Ham Fest:

A discussion to have one or not.

Jerry: suggested we have one every other year.

Rich Michau volunteered to chair the ham fest this year.


Todd: What is long term status to put tower back up on Cobley? According to Larry, there was some damage to the tower when taking it down and there was little desire to put it back up.

NEW Business:

Allan: Asked about the possibility of elmering for HF. Further discussion brought out the access to the ham room HF rig.


Meeting was adjourned at 7:55.
