Todd Gahagan WA7U, President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

 

Introductions:

 

Secretary’s report (Don Wilson KC7EWZ).  The minutes were approved with the correction of WA7U as attending in December 2009.

 

Treasure’s report (Harley Leach - KI7XF) $2754.38

           

Committee reports:

ERA: NR

SAR: N7FLT: Silken falls call, a missing boy, Three Forks search.

 

SCHOOLS: K7CUB- The contest “School Club Roundup” is coming up February 8-12.  Anyone that would like to help the kids during that time, contact K7CUB.

 

Bridger Repeater Net: K7CUB – Meets every Tuesday evening at 8:00 pm.  If interesting in being net control, contact K7CUB.

 

PARTS: WA7U: Contact Todd if you want parts.

 

Old Business

            Mid-Winter party will be 1/29/2010 @ 6:00 pm.  This will be at the Oasis in Manhattan.  Get pictures in digital format to Jerry Gregoire.  He will prepare a slide show of the years activities.  Please RSVP to Jerry if you plan to attend.

 

            N7ODN: ARRL Books:  Contact Jack if you would like to purchase some.

 

            SARHAM use of the call sign W7ED discussion.  After much discussion, it was agreed that SARHAMs would not use W7ED during SAR missions. 

Questions were asked about the origins of the club trailer.  It is owned by ERA for tax purposes.  Hams use it for public service events and emergency communications.

 

NEW Business

            AI4RO: Allan (Vice President) Please contact Allan if you have ideas or would like to volunteer to give a presentation at GHRC meetings.

 

Someone mentioned that GHRC is an ARRL affiliated club and all members are encouraged to be members of ARRL. 

 

DUES:

Please remember that ham related dues are due.

It is recommended that GHRC dues are $20.00 or $25.00 for a family.

 

ERA (Eaglehead Repeater Association) dues are what ever you would like to contribute.  This is the group that pays and does the upkeep of many of our area repeaters. (ERA sponsored ones)

 

MRLA (Montana Repeater Link Association) This organization maintains a group of linked repeaters throughout Montana from Billings to Great Falls.  Rick Helvey KB7KB is the local contact for MRLA.

 

W7LR: ERA club discussion.  Jack and Dave moved to keep ERA separate from GHRC. 

            At the end of the ERA discussion of reinvigorating it, the following people volunteered to be board members of ERA

Dave Ford KE7CAP, Jim Hall AA8Y, Kathy Gregoire (N7UNI), Don Godward (N7FLT) representative of GHRC, Bob Leo W7LR would continue being treasurer of ERA.  The above group agreed to meet and hammer out details.
