Secretary’s report: Jim and Todd moved to accept the minutes. The motion passed.

Committee reports:


VE: KI7XF: There will be exams given on June 4 and field day (June 25,26)

ERA / REPEATERS: NTR (nothing to report)


SAR: N7FLT reported on the week long search for the missing skier on Lone Mountain.


SCHOOL CLUB: N7FLT: Reported the last meeting with the students had a presentation of 6CV, the Sheriff’s department Incident command vehicle. He also thanked KI7XF for the Radio direction finding presented to the club on the previous meeting.


88 NET: K7CUB: A nice check-in of 13 people last week. There is room for more net controls. Contact Vivian if you want to help.


FOX HUNTING: AI4RO: There are foxhunts on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. Come out for a good time and learn valuable skills.


HF NEWS: N7FLT and W7LR noted that there has been a recent upswing in activity. Bob reported several 6M opening.

Jim Hall: AA8Y : Talked of helping with a scout jamboree near Townsend but since the meeting, the Helena ham group has pulled out of that event.


Alan Schrum AI4RO: Announce organizers of a walk for MS wanted help from the hams on this weekend May 14. Contact Alan for help with this.


Alan Schrum AI4RO: brought up the idea of having some kind of signage giving credit to GHRC volunteers at public service events. There was no follow up on that topic.


Jerry McDonald W7FUB mentioned that Saturday breakfast has been moved to Kountry Korner café at four corners.


Todd Gahagan WA7U said the Bridger Ridge users group met and reported record snow on the ridge almost totally covering the buildings.


Don Godward N7FLT: Field day June 25-26. Set up out at Dales the afternoon of the 24th. Norm will arrange for the porta potty. Picnic Saturday evening at 6:00. Bring your own meat and a salad or dessert to share. Coordinates N45.764578, W111.244020.


OLD Business:

Alan Schrum AI4RO: Send ideas or volunteer for club presentations to me.

NEW Business: Les Scheidt AC7RY asked for a detail of expenditures from the club.


HAM FEST discussion: Rich and Alan led a discussion of the planning and jobs needed for the hamfest. Some proposals were made for additional expenditures:

  1. Extra building for presentations. Paid by the hour with a cost estimate of $238.00. Passed

  2. Curtain dividers for the vendor tables : $200.00: Failed

  3. Curtain dividers for the presentations: $120.00: Passed
