Call to Order: Bruce Walker KE7SJZ called the meeting to order @7:00 PM. Followed by introductions.
Minutes: Not enough attending members to approve the minutes
Treasurer’s report: Beginning balance; $859.83. There was income from dues of $20 plus a $500 donation from the Wind Drinkers for helping with the Ridge Run. Ending Balance; $1,379.83
• GHRC received a donation of $20 from Bill Ritchen AB7LG who lives in California
Ham test: Next test is December 8th
ERA: Nothing reported
-Bridger Building
SAR: One missing lady and a threatened suicide.
• SAR Hams participated in the Mass Causality Exercise at the airport. The SAR Hams were staged at the hospital. There was quite a turn out and a good crew. The event went better than it has in 15 years

Foxhunt: Harley Leach KI7XF- There was a foxhunt after the last meeting. No foxhunts planned
HF: Don Godward N7FLT- HF has been up and down

Old Business:
• North Yellowstone Amateur Radio Club: David Hohmann AG7DF- repeater is running exceptionally well. The club will be having their first meeting in late November
• Website Updates: David Hohmann AG7DF-New “upcoming events” page with links. The repeater page has been updated
• Winter Field Day: Wayd Walker WA7YD-Location is at the Headwaters State Park Campground. There will be wall tents and the club trailer. BYO-Chili to add to the chili pot on Saturday night

New Business:
• GHRC Officer Election-The GHRC will be electing officers in December. If you are interested please talk to one of the current officers. All positions are open. You must have been a member of the GHRC for at least one year

Announcements/Reminders:
• GHRC Christmas Dinner- We are open to suggestions on a location. The dinner usually happens in January or February

Treasurer’s report: Beginning balance; $859.73. There was income from dues of $40. $39.90 was paid out for our web name. Ending Balance; $859.83
Ham test: Went good. There was a special test secession held before the meeting for Megan, she passed
ERA: Nothing reported

SAR: SAR had been very quiet and then events went crazy. One person was pulled out of the Gallatin. There was one heart attack victim, a dementia patient and one missing person in Tom Minor Basin
88 Net: Wayd Walker WA7YD- 88 repeater is down but going good
Foxhunt: Harley Leach KI7XF-Saturday
HF: Don Godward N7FLT- “stunk” Don Godward N7FLT placed first in the NW Division
DMR: Norm Reger KD7TQM -Big Sky’s up and running as well as Red Mountain. There are plans for the West Yellowstone repeater as well
APRS: The Mandeville, Lone Mountain and Red Mountain repeaters are sending packets

Old Business:
• North Yellowstone Amateur Radio Club: David Hohmann AG7DF- 146.98 -100hertz
Club is a nonprofit. There are 10 members. The repeater reaches really far, all the way to the end of the Lamar Valley
• Website Updates: David Hohmann AG7DF-the web site is now https making it more secure and links now. Backups have been made, forms updated and a buy/sell/swap page has been added that will be linked directly to the reflector
• Ham Fest/Prepper Fest- Went fine. There was a small turnout and a small profit from donated equipment
• Bridger Ridge Run: Kay Newman N7ZHN-Thank you to everyone who helped out. Everyone went above and beyond, you are much appreciated. BRR donated money to the GHRC in the amount of $500 and to the Eagle Head Repeater Association in the amount of $500
• Fall Fest: Norm Reger KD7TQM- Turned out good. The Police Department really appreciates the help. Thanks Everyone, do it again next year

New Business:
• Boy Scouts Camporee: Went good. The Enigma presentation was a big hit, thanks Harley Leach KI7XF. Thanks to Wayd Walker WA7YD and Curtis DeVault W0GIS for the basic radio knowledge presentation and thanks to Ray Harbeck KG7RAU for the Morse Code presentation

• Elections of officers will be in December. If you would like to be an officer talk to Bruce Walker KE7SJZ the GHRC President or any other officer
• Dues will be coming up in January 2019. There is more information at the bottom of the minutes

ERA:
-Bridger Building-Neil Ramhorst KL7JGS; the building is up, 85% completed. It is operational. In the process of moving equipment
SAR: Don Wilson KC7EW- SAR has been very busy. Two lives have been lost. Averaged two events per week this summer
88 Net: Wayd Walker WA7YD- Doing good
Foxhunt: Harley Leach KI7XF-Will start again in a couple of weeks
HF: Don Godward N7FLT- It stinks!

Old Business:
• Gardiner/Livingston/Paradise Valley repeater-The lease has been signed. The name is North Yellowstone Amateur Radio Club. David and Harley will be going up there tomorrow to turn on the power. 146.98 -100hertz
• Website Updates: David Hohmann AG7DF-Prepper Fest information has been added to webpage. David will be doing some work on the webpage to transfer it to a new template
• HOA Bill: The bill has possibly been taken out
• Field Day: Food was excellent, 58 Colorado states were worked, not very good this year. Next year Field Day will be held in a different location. The club got to thank Dale on a phone call during the meeting
o Thank you to Dale Heidner W7NAV and his wife for hosting field day for the past many years!
o Skeet Archer KI7YYS offer the use of their land by the Axtel fishing access.
o Thank you to Ray Harbeck KG7RAU and family for the wonderful pig and thank you to everyone who helped set up and take down
o Next year’s Field Day will be June 22nd & 23rd, 2019. More info to come
• Ham Fest/Prepper Fest- Ray Harbeck KG7RAU; September 15, 2018. Information has been posted on the webpage and the reflector. There will be no raffle this year. If you’d like to rent a table they are $10 apiece. The Ham Fest will run from 8 A.M. to about 1 P.M. It will be held in the same spot in the fairgrounds as last year.
• Bridger Ridge Run: Went Good. Thank you to everyone who participated in helping with coms.

New Business:
• Library Ham Books- Don Godward N7FLT-The books are in the library
• Fall Fest: Norm Reger KD7TQM- Need 4-5 more people to help out. Meet at 7:30 A.M. at the Soccer Fields in Belgrade
• Winter Field Day: Wayd Walker WA7YD-January 26th & 27th, 2019. Location is at the Headwaters State Park Campground

Announcements/Reminders:
• Ham n’ Eggs meet on Broadway Street in Belgrade, just south of Belgrade Sales and Service
• Boy scouts Camporee: Sept 22nd; Zombie Apocalypse. The boy scouts are asking for a few hams to give a presentation of the use of the ham radio, Morse code, studying, etc. This event will go from about 9 A.M. until about 2 P.M. Location is Nash and Sourdough. Ray Harbeck KG7RAU and Harley Leach KI7XF volunteered
• Neil Ramhorst KL7JGS will be doing a photo presentation in October including the Bridger Building and old ham photos
• Rich Michau W7AMT: DMR; Rich has made over forty contacts to different countries using DMR. The DMRMT webpage has code plugs. The repeater on Red Mountain (Butte) is DMR; 444.0 +off set 100hertz analog

Treasurer’s report: Beginning Balance of $1,806.45; collected $185 in dues, paid out $140 for the P.O. Box; Ending balance of $1,751.45
Ham test: Harley Leach KI7XF- Next test is in June then again on Field Day (June 23rd & 24th). There will also be an extra test on June 7th
ERA:
o Bridger Building; the building will need to be torn down soon. Neil Ramhorst KL7JGS is asking for help with this task, a helicopter ride provided. This will probably happen the beginning of June. The building rebuild won’t be started until July
o Two relay have burned up, the generator ran for two days
SAR: Don Godward N7FLT: Successful week; finished up the annual business budget and is looking into new tools. Searches; Saddle Peak-avalanche fatality, 35 Mile bridge-head on collision, Skinner Road-stuck vehicle, Flathead rescue. Curtis DeVault KB7GIS talked about a search on a patient with dementia
88 Net: Wayd Walker WA7YD- Plenty of net control operators. 88 is working better with a new antenna
Foxhunt: Harley Leach KI7XF-Baffled most participants
HF: Don Godward N7FLT- Marginal. There might be a solar flare next week

Minutes: Accepted with minor changes
Treasurer’s report: Beginning Balance of $1,951.45; collected $20 in dues and paid out $320 for insurance. Ending balance of $1,651.45
Ham test: Harley Leach KI7XF- Saturday, March 3rd. About 20 test takers are expected
ERA: Needs Money!
-Bridger Building; the lease was delivered to the county; so the legals can be approved. The building is expected to be done by August
-A lot of repeater work has been done
-Hytera USA check in is at 8:30pm
SAR: Don Godward N7FLT: One head injury and one call for a missing man in Big Sky. Curtis DeVault KB7GIS helped out with mapping on a Flathead search

Meeting brought to order at 19:00

1) Previous minutes accepted, (Norm dissented)
2) Treasurer Report by Bruce Walker, KE7SJZ
a. Account was $1,841.45, $110.00 added in Jan for a new balance of $1951.45.
b. Dues are due. $10-student, $20-individual, $25-family.
3) Ham Test – Harley, KI7XF
a. There will be a Ham test in March
4) Larry Springer is again offering licensing classes at MSU.
5) ERA – Ray Harbeck, KG7RAU:
a. ERA has several big bills coming up and little money in the bank. If you haven’t paid dues yet, please contribute. Dues are $30. Additional donations are appreciated.
b. Ann, KG7RAS, has started a Facebook page for ERA. There is a link that you can donate using paypal, Paypal.me/eaglehead. Search for ‘Eagle Head Repeater Association’
c. Neil, KL7JGS, has turned all necessary paperwork for the new shack on the Bridger ridge to the county.
d. DMR, Digital Mobile Radio, Upgrades are in progress for the Ridge, Big Sky and possibly West Yellowstone.
e. There is a very cool worldwide net Saturdays at 9:00 am.
6) SAR – Don Godward, N7FLT
a. Reports a slow month, (that’s good right)
i. Urban search in Three Forks. Subject found unharmed riding his bike.
ii. Back country rescue at Blackmoore. Ladean, KN0WAY, was on  scene for training. Great timing.
7) 146.88 Net – Wayd Walker, WA7YD
a. Needs someone for Feb 27. Neil will take it, as long as he gets the cheat sheet of regular check-ins. If you are interested in helping out check in on Tuesdays, 166.88 @ 20:00, let the controller know.
8) Contest – Don, N7FLT
a. It was good but the bands went quiet quickly.
9) Paradise Repeater – David Homann, AG7DF
a. Still a work in progress.
10) W7ED website – AG7DF
a. David added Don Regli, KI7OJ, as silent key. Don passed on Nov 12, 2017.
b. Suggested a Facebook page to facilitate Elmership.

11) Winter field day – WA7YD.
a. Went well. Good turn out. This year’s count of 210 contacts exceeded last year’s count.
12) Christmas Party – KG7RAU, and Ann Harbeck, KG7RAS
a. Party was at Fudruckers. Had a good time. There was some noted cool door prizes.
13) MRLA – KI7XF
a. Dues are due. If you use the MRLA, please support it with your wallet.
b. 147.18 repeater has a bad antenna that will be replaced this summer.
14) Events
a. Bridger Ridge run. Kay Newman has stepped down from her coordinating role. While Ralph Bergantine, KC7PFH, is not taking over for Kay, he can help you get connected if you want to help out. The BRR is in August.
b. Belgrade Fall Festival – See Norm Reger, KA7TQM. It is in September.
c. Field Day is on June 30 this year.

• Website Updates: Silent Key page was cleaned up and a page has been added so that info can be added by viewers. A “story Page” has been added as well. David Hohmann AG7DF

• Winter Field Day- Wayd Walker WA7YD: January 27th and 28th. Operating times are from 12pm -12pm at the Headwaters State Park in three Forks at the campground. It is $18 per night to camp. There will be an open radio station. Set up will be Friday night. Remember to bring some chili!
• Election of club officers: It was unanimously voted on keeping club officers the same as 2017

New Business:
• 2018 Dues are coming up in January (information on the bottom of the page)
• It was decided with popular vote that the GHRC members list will be posted on the website. No personal info will be available just names and call signs. The list will be periodically updated.
